i-R0k operates as a freelance dealer and mercenary within the OASIS, frequently taking jobs from Innovative Online Industries (IOI). He is voiced and motion-captured by T.J. Miller. Unlike the other characters, his true appearance outside of the OASIS is not shown. i-R0k shares his name with a character from the novel but is otherwise unrelated. His most significant action in the film occurs when he eavesdrops on Wade Watts (Parzival) and Samantha Cook (Art3mis) at the Distracted Globe night club, learning Wade's true identity. He then reports this information to Nolan Sorrento, the CEO of IOI, leading directly to Sorrento's attempt to kill Wade by bombing his house, which kills Wade's aunt Alice among others. Later, i-R0k places a forcefield around Castle Anorak on Planet Doom using the Orb of Osuvox, but Art3mis eventually disables it.

In Their Own Story

i-R0k is hired by Nolan Sorrento to learn Wade Watts' true identity, with the intent of bribing him to win the contest on IOI's behalf. At the Distracted Globe night club, i-R0k eavesdrops on Wade and Art3mis as Wade confesses his love and true name to Art3mis. i-R0k then informs Sorrento of his findings. Sorrento contacts Wade with an offer, and when rejected, attempts to kill Wade by bombing his house, killing Wade's aunt Alice among others. Later, during the third challenge on Planet Doom, i-R0k places a forcefield around Castle Anorak using the Orb of Osuvox, but Art3mis eventually disables it, allowing the High-5 and their army to enter.
